I don’t especially like to talk about myself, thus I would like to leave this section to my good friend Rachel, with whom I travelled in South America in 2014… The following text is in french, and I would rather not translate it to not deteriorate her nice writings.

Un guide ornitho dans une main, une banane dans l’autre, les jumelles autour du cou et l’air guilleret, vous cadrez sans doute le personnage. C’est comme cela que je me souviens souvent de Christophe lorsqu’en voyage, il faisait la fameuse chasse aux coches. « Rachel, j’ai vu un pétreeeeeeelle » « Oh un pélican ! » « Roooh une chevêchette, trop cool ! »

Bref vous l’aurez compris, Christophe ne se lasse pas et ne se lassera sans doute jamais des oiseaux. Mais sa passion pour ces « belles bestioles », comme il le dirait lui-même, n’est pas son unique occupation et vous le constaterez si vous partez à la découverte de ce site photos : escalade, randonnées, escapades au bout du monde, Christophe n’a pas fini de vous faire voyager !

Mais bien plus qu’un voyage, il vous amène ici à la découverte de ses passions et de toute la magie qu’un paysage brumeux, qu’un oiseau surpris au détour d’un fourré, qu’un couché de soleil peuvent susciter dans les cœurs amoureux de l’authentique Dame Nature.

THE APPROACH

Instead of focusing on a full-size portrait of a bird with many details, I will most likely try to capture what I was feeling during my time with the animal. Often, it means that there is a good distance between my subject and I (unless I am in a hide or camouflaged), to avoid disturbance and “unnatural” behaviour. That is why my pictures will probably look more and more like shadows and chinese silhouettes, as my favorite times for observing nature are dusk and down. For these reasons, I do not use flashes and avoid other artificial lights.

All my pictures are made with a full respect of the animal and of the environment. I don’t use any baits or calls to attract animals.
